Sandy Jobin-Bevans
Doctor Mendax
A nine-time winner at the Canadian Comedy Awards, Sandy started his professional comedy career as a member of the Second City's National Touring Company where he wrote and performed in four reviews including 2000 Years And Still No Flying Cars, The Puck Stops Here!, and If This Is Tuesday, This Must Be Belleville. Upon joining the Toronto Second City's Mainstage cast he wrote and performed in five original reviews; Honk If You Love Cheeses!, Family Circus Maximus, The Bush League Of Justice, Armaged-It-On!, and Invasion Free Since 1812. In 2001 Sandy appeared at the Just For Laughs Festival with the Toronto improv team. Sandy is a founding member of multiple award winning Slap Happy Improvisational Theatre Company. Slap Happy has performed in such places as Chicago, New York, Boston, Orlando, Memphis, Amsterdam and Brussels. Sandy has written and performed sketch comedy on such television shows as The Endless Grind, The Gavin Crawford Show, and Global Late Night. His teaching experience includes five years with the Second City Workshops and several workshop intensives taught in North America and Europe. He is a veteran of the Fringe circuit having recently performed in the Toronto Fringe hit SARSical. Sandy's recent film and television credits include Late Night With Conan O'Brien, Queer As Folk, Regenesis, Dawn Of The Dead, Harold and Kumar Go To Whitecastle, The Shakespeare Comedy Show, You Kill Me, and look for Sandy this spring as a regular on the Comedy Network's new show Hotbox.
Mike "Nug" Nahrgang

Nug is excited to finally be in his first Fringe. He has been seen in many commercials, and in such films as Cube: Zero, Men With Brooms, The Rocker, and The Love Guru. Nug has won 3 Canadian Comedy Awards with his sketch troupe The Minnesota Wrecking Crew and is also a well-traveled improviser. Nug spent the last 2 years covered in blood playing Jake in Evil Dead: The Musical. He is also the host of the live game show SHOWGAME which runs monthly at the Rivoli.

Jim Annan is thrilled to be a part of Because I Can's amazing cast and The Fringe this year. He performed in last year's Best Of The Fringe show, About An Hour. Jim is an alumnus of The Second City, where he wrote and performed four shows, including the Dora Mavor Moore nominated, Bird Flu Over The Cuckoo's Nest, and Tazed And Confused, as well as the Canadian Comedy winning Facebook Of Revelations. Television and Film credits include: The Best Years, The Jon Dore Show, Billable Hours, G-Spot, The Network (BravoFact), Sue Thomas FBEye, Talk To Me, Cyborg Soldier, and Repossession Mambo.
Kate Hewlett

Kate is an actor and writer currently living in Toronto, Canada. Film and TV credits include: The Day I Thought I Died, The Last New Year, Psych, A Dog's Breakfast, Dark Water, Four Minutes and Kevin Hill. Kate also played Jeannie Miller on Stargate: Atlantis and Andrea on CBC's 11 Cameras. As a theatre actor, Kate's most recent credits include: Cellular (Luminato/New Waves), Humans Anonymous (Bridge Theatre Company, NYC), Noble Parasites (Theatre Passe Muraille) and Don't Wake Me (Next Stage).
Kate has written a number of stage plays, including A Life in the Day (Luminato/New Waves), The Swearing Jar, Humans Anonymous, Malus Domestica and Use My Babies Well. Also a songwriter, Kate recently recorded her first EP (entitled And Then You'd Go) with the multitalented Christopher Stanton. Kate was a member of the 2007 Tarragon Playwrights' Unit and is the Artistic Director of 6AM Tango Productions.
Upcoming: Kate will be acting in her short film She Said Lenny (BravoFact) and co-directing and dramaturging Adam Brazier's He Sang She Sang.
